The Dust Brothers : Syrian Drama about the Ottoman Occupation

The Dust Brothers : Syrian Drama about the Ottoman Occupation Tube. Duration : 4.08 Mins.

This clip is from a Syrian drama called "The Dust Brothers". It was produced in 1996. The tensions at that time between Syrian and Turkey rose and we were about to start a war in 1999. This movie describes the last days of the ottoman occupation and focuses on one of the execution methods that the Turks were so good and creative with. The execution by a metal or wooden stake. They stick it inside the victim body and use a hammer to push it deeper. They try not to hit the heart so the victim suffers for the longest possible duration. Turkey started its occupation with a stake and finished it with a stake, and during its 400-years occupation the stake had the upper hand... We tried to forget this history and focus on the collaboration with Turkey, but the Turks - at least the government - still have the sick dreams about renewing the Ottoman empire... Actually Turkey is responsible for dozens of genocides and crimes against humanity during its history. We all have heard about the recent conflict between Turkey and France about recognizing the Armenian genocide. The Armenian genocide must be recognized by the entire world along with many other genocides that were committed by the Turks against ethnic or religious groups such as the Syrians, the Alawites and the Kurds...
